STATEHOUSE (Dec. 31, 2025) – State Reps. Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) and Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) said Hoosier students who are interested in learning more about state government are invited to participate in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2026 legislative session.
Culp said pages can watch the legislative process in person, tour the historic Statehouse building and interact with their state representative. The full-day program is available for students who are 13 to 18 years old. Pages are permitted by Indiana law to receive a one-day excused absence from school for their participation.
"The Indiana Statehouse has so much to offer students eager to learn about government," Culp said. "I encourage young Hoosiers in our district to apply."
Pressel said the program begins in January with opportunities every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the legislative session. Eligible students and their parents are encouraged to submit an application corresponding with the date they would like to page. Pages are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on their chosen day, and groups serve together on Wednesdays. "As a page, students interact with lawmakers, assist staff and learn more about Indiana's history," Pressel. "Many of our leaders used this unique opportunity as inspiration to serve their communities and state."
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
