STATEHOUSE (Oct. 6, 2025) – Indiana House Republicans are seeking student interns for the 2026 legislative session, according to State Reps. Matt Commons (R-Williamsport) and Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer).
These paid, full-time internships are open to college students, recent graduates and students in graduate and law school. Commons said the internship is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge of state government through active participation in the legislative process.
"From participating in legislative meetings to interacting on the House floor with legislators and staff, interns are fully engaged in session," Commons said. "I encourage any student who is interested in government, politics and communications to apply today."
Culp said interns will work in the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis full time Monday through Friday during the legislative session, which starts in January and concludes in March.
"The professional experience and skills gained from an Indiana House internship are unmatched," Culp said. "I encourage anyone looking for opportunities to network and explore career paths to apply today."
Positions are available in legislative operations, policy and communications.
Interns will be paired with a staff member to work directly with an assigned group of state representatives. During this spring semester internship, students will have opportunities to interact with state legislators, state agencies and private sector organizations, as well as participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
