Representative Friend: Local student gains experience with the legislature
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 12, 2016) – State Rep. Bill Friend (R-Macy) welcomes local resident, Abigail Smith, to the Statehouse where she is interning with the House of Representatives during the 2016 legislative session.
Smith, a resident of Peru, is the daughter of Chris and Beth Smith. A 2011 Peru High School graduate, Smith graduated in 2015 from IUPUI Kelley School of Business with a degree in finance and international studies and a minor in political science.
As a legislative intern, Smith corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails. She also helps staff committee hearings and floor proceedings.
