(Statehouse) Jan. 22, 2008- State Rep. Matt Bell (R-Avilla) received the Small Business Champion Award today from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce for his commitment to improving the economic climate for small businesses in Indiana. The award luncheon was held in conjunction with the Chamber's Small Business Day at the Statehouse, which allowed hundreds of small business leaders to meet with legislators and discuss their legislative concerns.
"I am honored to be recognized as a small business champion," said Rep. Bell. "I will continue to support Indiana's small businesses and legislation that promotes the growth of Indiana's economic climate. Businesses large and small deserve the chance to flourish, and when the business community prospers, Hoosiers win. A strong economic climate promotes high quality, high-paying jobs and helps to improve the quality of Hoosiers life."
The Chamber's Small Business Day at the Statehouse offers small business leaders the opportunity to learn valuable business strategies. Participants were offered educational sessions, which focused on small business resources and an overview of how to effectively communicate with a legislator. In addition, arrangements were made for legislators to meet with attendees to ensure that Indiana's small business community was heard.
