STATEHOUSE — State Representative Tim Wesco (R-Osceola) was appointed to serve as Vice Chairman of the Public Policy Committee by House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis). The Speaker of the House appoints committee chairmen biennially, following each election of the General Assembly.
“I am incredibly honored to be appointed as Vice Chairman of the Public Policy Committee,” said Rep. Wesco. “Each legislative session, this committee is tasked with reviewing legislation that addresses some of our state’s most critical issues, so I look forward to having conversations, working with my colleagues as well as the public, to find meaningful solutions.”
Considered the “workhorse of the institution”, standing committees are vital to the success of the legislative process. Committees receive public testimony and deliberate proposed legislation before determining whether or not to advance it to the House floor.
“In this new role, I look forward to continuing my efforts to help pass sound public policy that benefits Hoosiers living in our community and throughout the state,” said Rep. Wesco. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve in this leadership capacity.”
Rep. Wesco (R-Osceola) serves portions of Elkhart and St. Joseph counties.
