STATEHOUSE (Sept. 8, 2026) – State Rep. Heath VanNatter (R-Kokomo) is encouraging local students to apply for the Indiana House Republican Internship Program for the 2027 legislative session.

VanNatter said this paid, full-time internship is open to college students, recent graduates and students in law or graduate school from January through April.

"This isn't an internship where students simply sit on the sidelines and observe," said VanNatter, chair of the House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee. "Our interns are trusted with real responsibilities and become an integral part of the team, which makes the experience both challenging and rewarding for young Hoosiers willing to grow."

Interns work in the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis full-time Monday through Friday during the legislative session and gain practical knowledge of state government through active participation in the legislative process.

Positions are available in legislative operations, policy and communications.

This spring semester internship gives interested students opportunities to interact with state legislators, state agencies and private sector organizations, as well as participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
