STATEHOUSE (Dec. 27, 2017) — Applications are open for students interested in participating in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2018 legislative session, according to State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton).
Pages have an opportunity to join Thompson during the legislative session and tour the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate chambers.
“This is a great opportunity for students to interact with legislators and staff members,” Thompson said. “Pages get to learn about the legislative process and serve fellow Hoosiers by completing important tasks. It’s one of the great student opportunities we offer during session.”
To be a page, applicants should be between the ages of 13 and 18. Thompson said student pages and groups can sign up to participate together.
The 2018 legislative session begins Wednesday, Jan. 3, and must conclude by March 14.
Thompson said page positions fill quickly and encouraged participants to apply early online at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or by calling 800-382-9841.
