STATEHOUSE (June 1, 2022) – State Rep. Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) is among 40 lawmakers who will participate in a leadership program analyzing public policy issues such as the economy, trade and health care policy.
Teshka will meet with lawmakers from 10 other Midwestern states and four Canadian provinces August 27-31 for The Council of State Governments’ 27th annual Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development.
"This is a tremendous honor and privilege to connect with 39 other promising lawmakers from the Midwest in this program," Teshka said. "Through collaboration with other legislators, we all can learn from each other and help craft better policy."
As part of The Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Office, the 2022 BILLD program will be held in partnership with the Center for the Study of Governance and Politics in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition to curriculum designed to develop leadership skills, the program analyzes a variety of public policy issues, including the economy, trade and health care policy.
The Council of State Governments is a national, nonpartisan organization advancing state government by providing research assistance, professional development opportunities, interstate consulting services and educational networking opportunities.
