STATEHOUSE (Feb. 19, 2018) — A Pike High School graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2018 legislative session.
Christian Ramos, a resident of Indianapolis, is the son of Jorge and Carolina Ramos. He is attending Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in management.
As a legislative intern, Ramos corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
“Christian and the other interns have proven to be vital members of the House team,” Steuerwald said. “By assisting with House operations, interns gain valuable skills that will help them in their careers. I encourage students in our community who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the legislative process, developing professional workplace skills and fostering relationships with civil servants to apply to the House internship program.”
