STATEHOUSE – House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced that Rep. Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) will be serving in a leadership capacity for the Indiana House Republican Caucus as an Assistant Majority Floor Leader.

Rep. Soliday has served as the Assistant Majority Whip since the 2010 legislative session. Chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.

Speaker Bosma also appointed Rep. Soliday to continue serving as Committee Chairman of the Standing Committee on Roads and Transportation. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.

“It is an honor to continue to serve in a leadership role for the Speaker,” said Rep. Soliday. “I look forward to continuing to build upon our state’s strong infrastructure which helps Hoosiers maintain economic growth. We must continue to live up to our state’s namesake, the crossroads of America, and I will do all I can to make sure that happens.  ”

In his position as an Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Rep. Soliday will assist Rep. McMillin (R-Brookville), Majority Floor Leader.
