STATEHOUSE – On Organization Day, State Representative Rhonda Rhoads (R-Corydon) was sworn into office at the Statehouse, marking the first official meeting of the 119th General Assembly. Rep. Rhoads was reelected to represent House District 70, which includes portions of portions of Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties.
“It is a privilege to serve and represent our community in Indianapolis,” said Rep. Rhoads. “There are issues specific to southern Indiana that I intend to address this session, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to make that happen.”
As a part of Organization Day, Rep. Rhoads joined House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis), legislators, staff and other office holders in donating linens, gift cards, and various supplies to the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV).
ICADV is a statewide coalition that provides technical assistance, resources, information and training to domestic violence awareness programs, support agencies and concerned individuals. ICADV focuses on prevention of domestic abuse, legislative advocacy, public awareness, advocate training and legal assistance.
“I am glad we were able to support this organization and will continue to do so throughout the legislative session,” said Rep. Rhoads. “As an elected body, as leaders, we need to do our part and help raise awareness to put an end to domestic violence, which affects Hoosiers across the state.”
