STATEHOUSE (July 31, 2023) – State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) recently received an appointment to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.
To prepare for the next legislative session, which kicks off in January, state legislators serve on interim committees throughout the summer and fall to examine policy issues, gather public input and recommend potential legislation. Prescott will also serve as a member on the on the Corn Marketing Council and the Drainage Task Force.
"This summer I've been meeting and talking with constituents and our rural communities about a variety of issues important to them and their families," Prescott said. "I encourage residents in House District 33 to stay connected with me throughout the summer and fall months whether they need help navigating state government or have an idea for legislation."
Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify at committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also livestreamed and archived online at iga.in.gov, where committee calendars and meeting agendas are posted.
