STATEHOUSE (Feb. 25, 2022) – Hobart High School graduate Jack Huber is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Julie Olthoff (R-Crown Point) and her fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2022 legislative session.
Huber, a Hobart resident, is the son of Bob and Janet Huber. He is attending Indiana University Northwest and majoring in political science with a pre-law minor.
"The internship is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking involvement in politics and government," Huber said. "The variety of challenges presented every single day makes the process not only enjoyable, but also self-empowering. I couldn't recommend this internship enough."
As a legislative intern, Huber corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"Jack is putting in a lot of hard work, and showing eagerness to learn and help others," Olthoff said. "He is doing a good job representing our community at the Statehouse and he certainly has a bright future ahead of him."
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
