STATEHOUSE (Jan. 8, 2018) — Applications are open for students interested in participating in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2018 legislative session, according to State Rep. Julie Olthoff (R-Merrilville).
Pages have an opportunity to join Olthoff during the legislative session and tour the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court and the House and Senate chambers.
“Students who take advantage of this opportunity will have the chance to work alongside my staff and I during our daily tasks on the House floor,” Olthoff said. “I encourage students in our community to apply as it is also a great way to learn how state government works.”
To be a page, applicants should be between the ages of 13 and 18. Olthoff said student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups can sign up to participate together.
The 2018 legislative session began Wednesday, Jan. 3, and must conclude by March 14. Olthoff said page positions fill quickly and encouraged participants to apply early online at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or by calling 800-382-9841.
State Rep. Julie Olthoff represents House District 19
which includes a portion of Lake and Porter counties.
