Rep. Morris to serve as Vice Chairman
STATEHOUSE — House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) has announced committee members for the Indiana House Republican caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year. Rep. Bob Morris (R-Fort Wayne) has been selected to serve as Vice Chairman of Environmental Affairs. “It is an honor to serve as Vice Chairman of the Environmental Affairs Committee for another session,” said Rep. Morris. “I look forward to continuing to learn from the experiences that accompany this position.” Rep. Morris will also serve as a committee member on the Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, the Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee and the Natural Resources Committee. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor. “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to immerse myself in varying legislation through serving on a diverse range of committees that impact Hoosiers,” said Rep. Morris. -30-
