Note to the Editor: Please include the following statement from State Representative Doug Miller (R-Elkhart) in your coverage of the Indiana General Assembly’s adjournment.

STATEHOUSE – “As a freshman legislator, I spent the 2015 legislative session listening to the thoughts and concerns of my constituents and learning from my colleagues how best to advocate for our community. Long before I became a legislator, I was a small business owner, and I was encouraged to see that many of the budgeting principles, like making sure a budget is balanced and living within our means, were used when crafting our state’s biennial budget.

“Being a small business owner, I know how important our economic climate is to attracting jobs and spurring economic development. That is why I am proud we were able to work together and pass an honestly balanced budget which not only funds strategic priorities important to Hoosier families, but also provides financial security for future generations as well.”
