STATEHOUSE (Dec. 7, 2018) – State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) was recently reappointed to the House Ways and Means Committee.
Mayfield was also reappointed to serve on the House Public Policy Committee and the House Insurance Committee. She was also named assistant majority floor leader. In the leadership role, Mayfield will assist majority floor leader State Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) as an advisor and counselor for the caucus.
“One of our top priorities this year is to enact a responsible, balanced state budget,” Mayfield said. “As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, I have an opportunity to help craft a budget that will fund vital services for Hoosiers while maintaining healthy reserves and preserving the state’s AAA credit rating.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
