STATEHOUSE (March 1, 2022) – Tabernacle Christian School graduate Ethan Wright is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Peggy Mayfield (R-Martinsville) and her fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2022 legislative session.
Wright, from Martinsville, is the son of Monte and Melissa White. He is attending Indiana University, and majoring in history and political science.
"This internship has been a great opportunity to serve both my community and the state of Indiana," Wright said. "I've learned many things and met many outstanding people. House Republican staff are amazing and the unsung heroes of the legislative process."
As a legislative intern, Wright corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"This internship is giving Ethan a true, behind-the-scenes look at the legislative process," Mayfield said. "The skills and connections he and his fellow interns are building are invaluable. I'm thankful for all the hard work he puts in and look forward to seeing where his future takes him."
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
