STATEHOUSE (Dec. 16, 2024) – State Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) was recently re-elected as House Majority Floor Leader and received appointments to serve as a member of three key House committees.

Lehman will serve as a member of the House Insurance Committee, House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee, and the House Public Policy Committee.

"These committees are the starting point in tackling issues that constituents are facing to ensure their voices are heard," Lehman said. "During the 2025 legislative session, I look forward to examining key policy areas that impact our district such as supporting economic development and the continual discussion regarding health care access and cost."

House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms.

House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 8 for the first day of the 2025 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.

Lehman encourages constituents to visit in.gov/h79 to sign up to receive e-newsletter updates about what’s happening at the Statehouse throughout the legislative session and beyond.
