STATEHOUSE (Nov. 21, 2016) — The Indiana Chamber of Commerce today presented State Rep. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) a Small Business Champion Award based on his support and advocacy for small-business owners.
“Indiana is home to some of the most hardworking people I know,” Lehman said. “Thousands of entrepreneurs go out each day, shouldering the risk of being in businesses for themselves. I can do my part as a member of the General Assembly to better ensure those risks pay off. I’m all for providing a framework for small-business owners to succeed without government intrusion or overregulation.”
Lehman was among five state legislators who were presented awards at the 2017 Indiana Chamber Legislative Preview luncheon in Indianapolis.
According to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Lehman was chosen as an award recipient based on his voting during the 2016 legislative session and his dedication to bettering Indiana’s business climate for small employers.
“With the small business community employing more than half of all Hoosier workers, it is imperative that steps are taken to ensure its success. These legislators understand how vital small businesses are to the state’s economy,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Kevin Brinegar.
