Rep. Knollman to retire after legislative session

STATEHOUSE—State Representative Tom Knollman (R-Liberty) was honored by the General Assembly for his commitment to the constituents of District 55 throughout his six years of service.

Rep. Knollman announced he will be retiring from the legislature after the 2012 session. This year, he served as the Chairman of the Statutory Committee on Interstate and International Cooperation and was an active member of the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee as well as the Public Policy Committee.

During his time as a state legislator, Rep. Knollman was awarded the ‘Small Business Champion’ by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.  This award recognizes legislators who support efforts of small business growth and advocacy.

“It has been an unparalleled honor representing my constituents at the Statehouse over the past six years and I genuinely will miss representing them,” said Rep. Knollman.  “Throughout my time as a legislator, I have tried to always listen to my constituents and make sure I was reflecting their opinions to the best of my ability.”

Rep. Knollman worked to strengthen Indiana’s economy by bringing more jobs to Hoosiers across the state and in District 55. Throughout his time at a legislator he scored high percentages on the annual Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Vote Analysis.

This analysis takes place after every legislative session and highlights the pro-economy, pro-jobs voting records for state lawmakers. The scores are determined by bills and select amendments’ impact on the state’s economy. Rep. Knollman’s scores reflect his commitment to supporting bills that work toward enhancing Indiana’s economic stability and further job development in his community.

Also, as a farmer, one of his main concerns was promoting the development of Indiana’s agricultural industry.

“It was great to be recognized by the General Assembly for my time at the Statehouse and I am very appreciative,” said Rep. Knollman.  “This has been such a great experience and I hope I have made a difference in our community and in the lives of those who reside here.”

Rep. Knollman will continue to be active in his community and looks forward to spending time with his family and his wife Jodi. He also looks forward to working on his farm and following his favorite baseball team, the Reds.
