Rep. Karickhoff appointed Budget Subcommittee Chairman
STATEHOUSE – House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced standing committee assignments today for the 119th General Assembly. State Representative Mike Karickhoff (R-Kokomo) has been appointed Budget Subcommittee Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. He will also serve on the Natural Resources Committee. “The Ways and Means Committee is tasked with crafting our state’s biennial budget. There is a vast amount of information that goes into this essential piece of legislation,” said Rep. Karickhoff. “By managing our finances responsibly and making strategic investments, we can cultivate an economy that will thrive for years to come.” Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor. “I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know they are all eager to begin their work,” said Speaker Bosma. State Rep. Mike Karickhoff serves as Budget Subcommittee Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. He also serves on the Natural Resources Committee. In addition, he is the Chair of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. Rep. Karickhoff represents portions of Howard and Grant counties, most of the city of Kokomo and the towns of Swayzee and Greentown.
