STATEHOUSE (April 5, 2021) – Homestead High School graduate Gaven Schulz is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Chris Judy (R-Fort Wayne) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2021 legislative session.
Schulz, a Fort Wayne resident, is the son of Timothy and Lori Schulz. He is currently attending Ball State University pursuing a degree to become a social studies teacher.
“Being able to help improve the lives of Hoosiers has been extremely fulfilling," Schulz said. "I am working with great legislators, staff and an awesome group of interns."
As a policy intern, Schulz analyzes amendments and bills, helps prepare committee reports for legislators and researches Indiana Code for the caucus.
"Hardworking interns like Gaven are a huge help throughout the legislative session,” Judy said. “This internship is a great way for college students to apply what they learn in the classroom, and I really enjoy working with such bright minds."
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
