EDITOR’S NOTEPlease include the following statement from State Rep. Todd Huston (R-Fishers) in your coverage of the passage of House Bill 1001, the state budget.

STATEHOUSE - “As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, I know all of the hard work, research, debate and discussion that went into crafting the budget. The proposed budget is something I am very proud of, especially the historic $469 million increase in education funding over the biennium all while ensuring a balanced budget without any tax increases.

“My highest priority this legislative session is improving the school funding formula for local schools like Hamilton Southeastern School.  I am very pleased with the improvements that are included in the House budget and the positive impact it will have on our local schools.”
