STATEHOUSE – On Organization Day, State Representative Todd Huston (R-Fishers) was joined by fellow legislators, staff and other state office holders in donating supplies to the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV).

“Domestic violence affects so many people throughout our state,” said Laura Berry, Executive Director of ICADV. “We are happy to work with the House legislators on this issue and are proud to be the recipient of the Speaker’s charity initiative in 2015 which will support local domestic violence programs.”

An estimated 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year, and the ICADV works diligently to create awareness, change public policy and create initiatives to decrease this alarming statistic.

“Organizations like the ICADV provide a critical service to victims of domestic violence, so I was proud to support such a great organization and worthy cause,” said Rep. Huston. “The men and women who dedicate their time to helping the victims of domestic violence provide an invaluable service to Hoosiers. I was honored to help them and will continue to stand behind them moving forward.”

Legislators and staff brought in gift cards, pillows and bedding, art supplies and other items to donate to the ICADV. Laura Berry was present to accept the donations at the Statehouse.
