STATEHOUSE – House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments today for the 119th General Assembly. Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election.

State Representative Todd Huston (R-Fishers) has been selected to serve on the Public Policy Committee. He will also continue to serve on the Ways and Means Committee where he has been appointed to since his first term in 2012.

“I am honored to serve on these committees and look forward to being actively engaged in some of the most important issues facing Indiana,” said Rep. Huston. “I am eager to start working with my colleagues as we continue to strengthen and improve Indiana.”

Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House Floor.

“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know they are all eager to begin their work,” said Speaker Bosma.
