STATEHOUSE — House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. Rep. Todd Huston (R-Fishers) has been selected to serve on the Education committee and Ways and Means.
“I am honored to serve on these committees,” said Rep. Huston. “With my background in education, I am particularly looking forward to supporting policies that put Hoosier children first and in a position to succeed. Education will likely continue to be the most significant allocation of our state’s budget which must be balanced to keep our state on great financial footing.”
Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year. Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
