STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Representative Kathy Heuer (R-Columbia City) was appointed to three committees including one vice chairmanship.
Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
Rep. Heuer was appointed to serve on the following committees:
• Local Government (Vice Chairman)
• Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development
• Government and Regulatory Reform
“I am eager to get started as the Vice Chairman of Local Government committee,” said Rep. Heuer. “Local government has the means to impact Hoosiers’ everyday lives and I look forward to hearing from our neighbors and experts concerning any changes or enhancements they would like to see happen in local government.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
