STATEHOUSE (March 1, 2022) – West Vigo High School graduate Anthony Gianni Rubinacci is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2022 legislative session.
Rubinacci, from West Terre Haute, is the son of Victor and Tracey Rubinacci. He is attending Indiana State University and majoring in political science.
"My days are certainly very busy, and the work is fulfilling," Rubinacci said. "I'm helping constituents, policymakers and staff. As a political science major, I'm also gaining an in-depth perspective on how state government operates."
As a legislative intern, Rubinacci corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"Anthony's time as an intern is providing him real-world experience in a professional setting," Heaton said. "His work ethic is outstanding and he is a valuable asset to our team. Our community should be proud to have such an outstanding young man represent us at the Statehouse."
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
