STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced the 2015 interim study committee assignments. State Rep. Bob Heaton (R-Terre Haute) was appointed to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance.

“I look forward to serving on the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance,” said Rep. Heaton. “In this committee, a main focus will be property and casualty insurance coverage, and I look forward to working on this issue, as well as others related to this industry, in preparation for the 2016 legislative session.”

Interim study committees are an integral part of the legislative process. The Legislative Council meets every summer to assign topics for study during the interim and these committees will consult experts and gather public testimony to prepare for the 2016 session.

“I enjoy working with my colleagues through the interim to prepare for the following session –our work to improve the state truly never ends,” said Rep. Heaton.
