INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 31, 2015) – State Rep. Dick Hamm (R-Richmond) is encouraging Indiana students to participate in a unique opportunity during this legislative session.
The Indiana House of Representatives invites students ages 13 to 18 to experience state government firsthand through its page program. Students who serve as pages are excused from school for the day and are responsible for their own transportation to and from the Statehouse.
“I hope every student takes advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the legislative process,” Hamm said. “I look forward to meeting students from our community when they visit the Statehouse.”
House pages tour Gov. Mike Pence's office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate Chambers. They will also have the opportunity to join legislators on the House floor and assist legislative staff.
The legislative session begins Jan. 5. For more information or to fill out an application, visit www.indianahouserepublicans.com/page-program.
