STATEHOUSE- “I supported Senate Enrolled Act 101, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), because I felt that Indiana needed to align itself with the same standard of judicial review that currently exists at the federal level and in 30 other states including Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky. Despite mischaracterizations and misinterpretations by the opponents and some of the proponents, this law does not allow for discrimination against anyone; otherwise I would have opposed it. Although I felt the language in the RFRA in no way allows for discrimination, I wanted to make it abundantly clear, so I supported Senate Bill 50.”

Hoosiers are genuinely welcoming, hospitable and inclusive people. I still believe that Indiana is the best place in America to live, work and raise a family.”
