STATEHOUSE (July 28, 2023) — State Rep. Dave Hall (R-Norman) recently received an appointment to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications.

To prepare for the next legislative session, which kicks off in January, state legislators serve on interim committees throughout the summer and fall to examine policy issues, gather public input and recommend potential legislation.

"Reviewing the state's efforts to ensure widespread and adequate broadband service, and a resilient energy grid that's affordable for Hoosiers, are some of the more important topics we'll look at," Hall said. "This will help lawmakers craft legislation for next year's session, which will kick off in January."

Members of the public are welcome to attend and testify at committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also livestreamed and archived online at iga.in.gov, where committee calendars and meeting agendas are posted.
