MONROE COUNTY (Oct. 13, 2023) – State Rep. Dave Hall (R-Norman) recently hosted a listening tour in Monroe County where he met and heard from local leaders and employers.
"It's always great to learn more about what our community has to offer and meet with those who are working hard to enhance the quality of life here," Hall said. "I will continue to meet with constituents and work hard on their behalf. I encourage Hoosiers to reach out to me about issues important to them and their family or business, especially as we approach the 2024 legislative session."
Hall, who represents a portion of Monroe County, visited the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, which seeks to foster and preserve Tibetan and Mongolian cultures in the United States. Hall received a khata, which is a traditional ceremonial scarf in Tibetan Buddhism that is given as a symbol of honor and respect, from Venerable Arjia Thubten Lobsang Rinpoche and Tenpa Phuntsok.
The Norman lawmaker also visited Weddle Bros., a construction company that built The Mill, the Graduate Bloomington hotel and Indiana University's Luddy Hall, to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing the construction industry. He also met with the leadership at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington. The facility is designed to advance workforce development through industry training and academics. The State of Indiana partners with Ivy Tech Community College on workforce development.
Hall represents House District 62, which includes all of Brown County, and portions of Monroe and Jackson counties. Constituents can contact him by calling 1-800-382-9841 or emailing h62@iga.in.gov. The 2024 legislative session will begin in January and conclude by mid-March.
