STATEHOUSE (Feb. 4, 2026) – State Rep. Craig Haggard (R-Mooresville) was recently honored by the Indiana House of Representatives for his service, as he concludes his final session at the Statehouse.
Haggard has served House District 57 covering portions of Hendricks, Johnson and Morgan counties since he was elected in 2022.
"It's been an incredible honor to serve the people of House District 57," Haggard said. "I'm proud of our accomplishments, from passing public safety and consumer protection measures to ensuring our veterans and military members have the resources and support they need and deserve."
During Haggard's tenure in the House he's focused on serving veterans, bolstering public safety, protecting homeowners and upholding the 2nd Amendment. As a Marine veteran and member of the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee he authored legislation in 2026 to improve housing and support for veterans, and put forward legislation in 2025 to give property tax relief to veterans and seniors. In 2023, he supported legislation to create a "Green Alert" public safety system for missing veterans and service members.
Haggard co-authored a new law in 2023 that limited PFAS, hazardous material, in firefighter gear. Additionally, his bills to crack down on predatory robocalls, protect the privacy of firearm transactions and adding privacy protections for lawful gun owners were all signed into law.
“Craig has been a strong and effective voice for Hoosier veterans, service members and their families," said House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers). "We are grateful for his service in the House and for his steadfast commitment to his constituents."
Prior to serving in the House, Haggard retired from service in 2013 as a Lieutenant Colonel, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Indiana Air National Guard. During his service he flew an F16 Viper and was the commander of Headquarters Detachment One at Camp Atterbury.
Haggard lives in Mooresville with his wife, Brooke, and children, Isabella, Eleyna, Aidan and Ian. His memberships include Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the NRA.
