STATEHOUSE (April 12, 2023) – Franklin Community High School graduate Blaine Wentzell is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Robb Greene (R-Shelbyville) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2023 legislative session.

Wentzell, a Johnson County resident, is the son of Steve and Shannon Wentzell. He is currently a senior at Franklin College, and majoring in sociology and minoring in political science.

"My favorite part of the internship has been developing relationships with my fellow interns, staff members and the representatives during the legislative session," Wentzell said. "This has been a great opportunity to work hard and develop my professional skills."

As a legislative intern, Wentzell corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.

"Blaine is developing essential skills and making important connections that can help launch him into a great career," Greene said. "Legislative interns like him are incredibly helpful to both members and constituents throughout session."

Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
