STATEHOUSE (Oct. 15, 2026) – State Rep. Lori Goss-Reaves (R-Marion) welcomed First Lady Maureen Braun to Grant County on Wednesday, Oct. 14. They visited local libraries, businesses and educational organizations to celebrate the work being done across the community. The visit highlighted literacy, innovation and opportunities for Hoosier children.

The visit included stops at the Town of Upland, the Upland Public Library, NearSpace Education, Taylor University and the Marion Public Library.

The day began in Upland, where Goss-Reaves and Braun toured the Upland Public Library, NearSpace Education, the Main Street Mile initiative and Ivanhoe’s Drive-In.

"It was a pleasure to welcome First Lady Braun to Grant County and showcase the people and organizations that make our community special," Goss-Reaves said. "From education and innovation to local businesses and libraries, we saw so many examples of the great things happening here. I’m grateful she took the time to visit and connect with Hoosiers throughout the day."

That afternoon, Goss-Reaves and Braun read “The Little Engine That Could” to young readers during a special story time at the Marion Public Library. Each child received a copy of the book autographed by the first lady.

Later, House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) visited Taylor University for a "President Lindsay Live" conversation with Taylor President Michael Lindsay about leadership, public service and lessons Lindsay has learned throughout his career. The university thanked Huston for sharing his time and insights with the campus community.

Goss-Reaves said the visit was an opportunity to highlight the people, businesses and organizations making a positive impact in Grant County and thanked First Lady Braun for spending the day connecting with the community.
