Frye welcomes Milan students to the Statehouse
STATEHOUSE (June 2, 2016) – State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) this week welcomed students from Milan Community School Corp. to the Statehouse where they learned about state government, toured the Indiana Supreme Court and visited both the House and Senate chambers.
“These 50 students in grades five through 11 were eager to learn about the legislative process and see where laws are made,” Frye said. “This was a great educational experience, and of course I always enjoy visiting with local citizens who travel to the Statehouse.”
Frye shared with students on what a day is like for a state lawmaker, including how a bill becomes a law. Multiple students used the opportunity to ask Frye questions about his job and how Indiana functions.
“I was encouraged to see how interested our local students were in their government,” Frye said. “I am always available if others want to visit the Statehouse and learn more about the General Assembly.”
