STATEHOUSE (July 12, 2016) – State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) recently accepted the American Legion Distinguished Public Service Award in recognition of his work to help Hoosier veterans.
Frye, chair of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs and Public Safety, championed a new law determining the duties, standards and practices of veteran district service officers who help address individual service-related needs throughout the state.
“Serving as chair of the committee handling every bill that affects our veterans is a great responsibility that cannot be taken lightly,” Frye said. “Our veterans give their all for our state and country, and it is my goal to ensure they are provided for by all means possible.”
Frye on Saturday was recognized at the 98th American Legion Department Convention in Indianapolis.
“I am humbled by this recognition from the American Legion and will continue to support our veterans and their families with my work at the Statehouse,” Frye said.
