STATEHOUSE (Jan. 4, 2018) — Applications are open for students interested in participating in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2018 legislative session, according to State Rep. Dave Frizzell (R-Indianapolis).
Pages have an opportunity to join Frizzell during the legislative session and tour the governor’s office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate chambers.
“Seeing firsthand how a bill becomes a law is one of the many unique experiences the page program has to offer,” Frizzell said. “I encourage students to spend a day at the Statehouse and see how lawmakers tackle issues facing every community in Indiana.”
To be a page, applicants should be between the ages of 13 and 18. Frizzell said student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups can sign up to participate together.
The 2018 legislative session began Wednesday, Jan. 3, and must conclude by March 14. Frizzell said page positions fill quickly and encouraged participants to apply early online at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or by calling 800-382-9841.
