STATEHOUSE (April 4, 2019) – A Roncalli High School graduate is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Dave Frizzell (R-Indianapolis) and his fellow members of the House of Representatives during the 2019 legislative session.
Elijah Marx, a resident of Indianapolis, is the son of Jeff and Shannon Marx. He attends Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis where he is majoring in criminal justice.
As a legislative intern, Marx corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
“It is always great to see young professionals from our community interning at the Statehouse,” Frizzell said. “Our interns work every day with lawmakers and staff on many tasks to ensure session runs smoothly. Elijah is a talented individual with a bright future ahead of him.”
Each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law-school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of each legislative session.
“This internship provides many opportunities to grow and learn in a professional environment,” Marx said. “From working with staff and legislators to responding to constituents, every day is a different experience. Anyone looking to gain critical skills while getting a firsthand look at the legislative process should apply for this internship.”
