Rep. DeVon honors Penn-Harris-Madison School leaders and athletes

STATEHOUSE (Jan. 30. 2018) — State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) Monday at the Statehouse honored the achievements of the leaders and athletes of Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation.

DeVon presented a resolution in front of the House of Representatives, recognizing School Superintendent Dr. Jerry Thacker, Penn High School Band Director Glenn Northern and the PHS girls soccer team for their outstanding work.

“The school corporation is filled with outstanding athletes and educators,” DeVon said. “Our community is so proud of these gentlemen and this tremendous group of girls for their dedication to academics and sport.”

The Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents named Thacker a 2017 outstanding educator and the Indiana Music Educator Association Board honored Northern as the 2018 Outstanding High School Music Educator.

PHS girls’ soccer coach Jeff Hart led the team to its second consecutive Class 3A soccer state championship title this past season.


State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) represents House District 5,

                                                                which includes parts of St. Joseph county.
