STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced committee assignments and leadership appointments for the Indiana House Republican Caucus. State Rep. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) was appointed to three different House committees. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
“I am confident in the abilities of each of these leaders, and I know that they are each eager to begin their committee work and their leadership roles,” said Speaker Bosma.
Rep. DeVon was appointed to the following committees: Education; Family, Children & Human Affairs; and Utilities & Energy.
“I am excited to be able to serve my district and other Hoosiers across the state by taking an active role on these three committees,” said Rep. DeVon. “I know there will be many issues raised on each of these topics, and I am ready to get to work. It is important that we closely examine the issues that matter most to Hoosiers so that we can work on building solutions and taking positive steps forward for Indiana.”
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
