Dermody welcomes Leadership LaPorte County to Statehouse
STATEHOUSE (Feb.18, 2016) – State Rep. Tom Dermody (R-LaPorte) hosted members of Leadership LaPorte County at the Statehouse today to discuss a variety of proposals being considered during the 2016 legislative session.
Dermody said road funding is one of the many topics the General Assembly is examining along with curbing drug abuse and increasing public safety.
“It was beneficial to have local leaders at the Statehouse to provide insight on how state-level decisions impact our communities,” Dermody said. “Our conversation was productive and I believe we can continue working as a team on behalf of Hoosiers.”
As chair of the House Committee on Public Policy, Dermody said gaming, as it relates to fantasy sports, was discussed in depth with Leadership LaPorte County members.
Leadership LaPorte County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community and leadership development.
Rep. Dermody represents portions of LaPorte and Starke counties.
