STATEHOUSE (Feb. 4, 2026) – State Rep. Michelle Davis (R-Whiteland) was recently honored by the Indiana House of Representatives for her service, as she concludes her final session in the House.
Davis has served House District 58 which covers a portion of Johnson County since she was elected in 2020.
"Serving House District 58 has been one of greatest honors of my life," Davis said. "From day one, I've worked to strengthen our schools, support our teachers and families and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. I'm especially proud of the work we've done to protect women's sports and ensure fairness for female athletes."
As vice chair of the House Education Committee, Davis focused on legislation to strengthen schools, support students and families and protect opportunities for female athletes. Among her legislative accomplishments, was authoring new laws in 2022 and 2025 to protect women's sports at the K-12 and collegiate levels ensuring biological women have the right to fair competition and equal opportunities.
She authored new laws to enhance school safety practices and support school resource officers, and establish the Office of School Safety in Indiana. In 2025, she sponsored Senate Enrolled Act 255, which aimed to improve bullying response policies and timely parent notification.
Davis' other notable achievements include co-sponsoring legislation to ensure transparency in school board elections and authoring House Concurrent Resolution 2 which renamed a section of U.S. 31 after fallen Trooper Aaron Smith, to honor his memory and sacrifice. Her bill in 2023 to increase access to adult education and workforce training opportunities was also signed into law.
In 2025, Davis was invited to the White House for the signing of President Trump's Executive Order titled 'No Men in Women's Sports' as she championed the issue in Indiana.

"She championed policies that empower Hoosier students, parents and families, and her efforts have contributed to the positive results we’re seeing in Indiana’s classrooms.”
Davis lives in Whiteland with her husband, James, and has two children, Stephanie and Nickolas. She serves as the director of adult education at Central Nine Career Center and owns and operates a local outdoor storage lot.
