STATEHOUSE (Feb. 21, 2024) – Rush County native Cassidy Tellas is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2024 legislative session.
Tellas, a Rushville resident, is the daughter of William and Leeann Tellas. A graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School, she is currently attending Indiana University, majoring in political science and philosophy.
"Working in service of others has helped me grow as a person and into my desired career path," Tellas said. "I have really enjoyed my time helping legislators and their constituents during this year's session."
As a legislative intern, Tellas corresponds with constituents through phone calls, letters and emails while also staffing committee hearings and floor proceedings.
"Cassidy is learning valuable skills during the legislative session, especially in helping us stay connected with constituents," Criswell said. "Interns like her are critical to helping our day-to-day operations run smoothly, and I appreciate her hard work."
At the start of each year, the House of Representatives offers paid internship opportunities to college students, law school students, graduate students and recent college graduates for the duration of the legislative session.
