STATEHOUSE (April 20, 2026) – Warren County native Nala Crumbaugh is gaining experience as an intern with State Rep. Matt Commons (R- Williamsport) and his fellow members of the Indiana House of Representatives during the 2026 legislative session.
Crumbaugh, a Seeger Memorial High School graduate, is the daughter of Shannon and Grant Crumbaugh. She is currently a junior at Indiana University Bloomington majoring in social work and minoring in political science.
"This is an amazing opportunity that I have really enjoyed," Crumbaugh said. "I am learning so much here, and I encourage everyone to get involved in both their local and state government."
As a policy intern, Crumbaugh conducts research, prepares committee reports and assists staff and lawmakers with legislative and fiscal inquiries.
"As Nala's former teacher, it is great to see her get involved in the legislative process, which affects all Hoosiers," Commons said. "Interns like her are such an integral part of our team, helping us stay organized and responsive during this fast-paced session. I encourage all students in our area to explore this opportunity."
