Rep. Carbaugh commends IPFW re-classification

EDIOTR’S NOTE: Please include the following statement from State Representative Martin Carbaugh (R-Fort Wayne) in response to the Purdue University President, Mitch Daniels’ letter of support to change Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne to a “Metropolitan University.”

STATEHOUSE - “I am pleased to hear that Purdue University President Daniels is in support of the change for Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) to be designated as a ‘Metropolitan University.’ This is a great acknowledgment of IPFW’s uniqueness as a school of higher education, and I am optimistic about the opportunity this change could open up for Northeast Indiana.”

“As a co-author on legislation that would mandate this, I am excited to see an admired leader acknowledge the necessity and benefits this change could have on the students, educators and communities that are impacted by IPFW.”
