Note to the press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Mike Braun (R-Jasper) in your coverage of the House of Representatives passing House Bill (HB) 1001, which provides sustainable, long-term road funding for the state of Indiana. Rep. Braun serves on the Roads and Transportation and Ways and Means committees. He voted in favor of HB 1001 in both committees.

“This session, House Republicans made it our top priority to craft a responsible, data-driven solution to meet our state’s immediate and long-term transportation infrastructure needs. After carefully examining all of the funding mechanisms available to us in committee, I believe we have created a comprehensive plan that will adequately fund Indiana’s roads and bridges, while also assisting local governments with their funding needs for years to come.”

HB 1001, co-authored by Braun, now moves to the Senate for further consideration.

State Rep. Mike Braun (R-Jasper) serves on the Ways and Means, Roads and Transportation, and Education committees. Rep. Braun represents portions of Daviess, Dubois, Pike and Martin counties.
