STATEHOUSE (July 15, 2022) – State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) recently received an appointment to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance.
State legislators serve on interim committees throughout the summer and fall, and examine top policy issues, gather public input and recommend legislation for the regular session beginning in January.
"Lawmakers have heard loud and clear from Hoosiers that health care costs are more than they can afford," Borders said. "We intend to do a deep dive into the issues, because it's clear we need to find solutions to increase access to high-quality, affordable care."
Borders will also serve on the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development and the Interim Study Committee on Government.
According to Borders, members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify at committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Hearings are also livestreamed and archived online at iga.in.gov, where committee calendars and meeting agendas are posted.
